New Years, Fanny the Tranny and thoughts on being victimized by Angie Dimitriou...

Okay, so I finally made my long awaited return to Montreal. It's been almost a year since I have been to my fair city and I must say... Damn, I love that city. Seriously. My week in Montreal only served as proof that a) I should have considered just living there in the first place and b) I have to go back before my departure to Sydney.
After Lauren and I got back to Montreal from Toronto in way too short of a time, things just seemed to slide back to the old days. Ben showed up with booze and proceeded to get the lot of us drunk (and then convinced us to go out -- of course!). Jeff went right into host mode and cooked us all dinner. And, Lauren and I sat idle and watched it all transpire.
Saturday night was New Years Eve, which was very exciting because it meant the reuniting of friends who are now scattered throughout the continent. Angie was back from Vancouver. Min was back from Florida. Bonnie was back from living way too far up the plateau (which, yes, is in Montreal... but it might as well not be cause the public transit is less than inspiring). Oh! And, yes, I was home, too, after being away for far too long. Fun was had. My bro even made a guest appearance after driving over from Toronto.
After we rang in the new year, we headed out to the club where I seemed to be too wound up to notice that I was in my first uber / exciting homo atmosphere for the first time in a long time. I have been at the clubs in Seoul, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and even Toronto (a city that seems to be becoming less cool by the second)... but, nothing is Montreal. At the end of the night I met "Fanny the Tranny". A wonderful young lady who told my brother that he was "tacky", but that it was alright cause he's straight. And, although I'm not chubby, I'm also not skinny. I felt better when she told a certain newsreporter that he was (is) chubby. Ahem. And, I'm not even on TV. It was during this time that Angie went on the offensive pickpocketed me twice (without my knowing) and then made fun of Kelly Clarkson. Appalling. The weekend was finished with a night out a la Stereo. More fun was had.
I'm back in the burbs. But, not for long... Montreal awaits yet another return...
